Usually they have bruises or wounds on their bodies. If there are no physical signs, look for personality changes. Victims of abuse will not usually tell because they know their abusers and are afraid of getting hurt more.

Oh! there are teens who are fun in joining a fraternity/sorority and the leaders of the group are abusing their members through paddle in the parts of their body of which it can not be seen. This act is called as initiation for joining their fraternity. It is an irony , it is called as brotherhood but to join them you have to submit yourself to a corporal punishment.

you know they are in an abusive situation when they fear whoever it is that abuses them. they walk on egg shells around this person and would do anything to avoid a blow out. Another sign is when the abuser belittles the abused person.
