"Our nation’s schools should be safe havens for teaching and learning, free of crime and violence. Any instance of crime or violence at school not only affects the individuals involved, but also may disrupt the educational process and affect bystanders, the school itself, and the surrounding community."

Its true. Schools should be for learning and not for gang violence or shootings or bullying. We go to school to learn not to be victimized there. ADD COMMENT

Very Nice! Schools should be sanctuaries or havens. It should be about learning. Violence should be somewhere in a battlefield or something. Definitely not in school. ADD COMMENT

this issue will have big impact on schools reputation. therefore, if government can do anything, schools should at least make some move. ADD COMMENT

Government has nothing to do with this violence at school. It's the school's responsibility to prevent violence at school from occurring. faculty and staff should take responsibility in watching over the students. ADD COMMENT

Guess the school personnel itself should take responsibility in responding to every crime and violence being committed at school. They should not depend to the governmen'ts action. ADD COMMENT

Since schools are the second home of the students, administration should make sure that the school where the students spend their weekdays should be safe to stay in. They have to look after the student's safety and security. ADD COMMENT
