A recent study shows that teachers were targeted indicate that 7 percent (10 percent in urban schools) of teachers in 2003 were subject to threats of injury by students. Five percent of teachers in urban schools were physically attacked, with smaller percentages in suburban and rural schools. Other members of school staffs are also at risk for violent attack, with school bus drivers being particularly vulnerable.

This means that teachers are also the subject of school violence.

Teachers are authority figures and so they are targeted. Also some students may hold grudges against a teacher hence they are singled out sometimes. ADD COMMENT

In Japan we do not go out of classroom while teacher is still talking. Here in America kids go out while teacher still talking. Very disrespectful. There are places in Japan where gangs are plenty and some kids rebel too. But in America, its how you say... too common? ADD COMMENT

Teachers are not exempted in violence, those students who are not interested in their lessons , they are the suspect in doing so. In accordance to their behavior, we can conclude that they don't like to learn. ADD COMMENT

the rule of the teachers is to impart learning to her students but if the students are not lean on to his studies ,then it is their faults if fails. ADD COMMENT

Poor teachers, they are only doing their job not knowing that at the same time they're putting their selves to danger. I salute to all teachers in the world who contributed a lot for the development of their students. ADD COMMENT

Teachers are to be respected and honored because it is a noble profession, if not for them there are no priest, doctors , engineers , prosecutors and many more professions to name with, their works are to deal of healthy minds and molders of the youth. ADD COMMENT
