the youth for today wanted to know how to take charge of a task and get it done, they want to learn how to be reliable. dependable and trustworthy. In other words they would like to become a responsible person.

Responsibility isn't inherited nor is it a character trait or potential which comes at birth. It must be taught and learned. Our teens must be given attention and guidance as they grow.
But sad to say that our teens are now grown in a manner of having a nanny that they couldn't be able to do some works that even in their needs are guided by their nanny. Good for those who are trained of being responsible teens.
Responsibility is bidirectional- for self and for things outside of oneself. For self, it means having self- discipline, knowing how to postpone self-gratification, understanding the needs-wants, difference, and learning self-control
it is adviced that we should guide them through this transition but we should also give them the authority to be themselves.
Agree. Some transitions are smooth while some are rocky. Owning up to your responsibilities is never an easy thing to do.
