I also believe that security is important.  But doing it like they do in the airport is kinda harsh.  Especially since, these are kids we're talking about.

Lots of schools have metal detectors already.  Some kids still find a way to inflict terror though.  But it is a good deterrent for those who try to sneak in guns. 

There is no harsh putting metal detector in airport, school and public place specially for the kids. We are talking about security. And on my own opinion Its good to have this kind of technology.

metal detectors on school campus can help reduce students bringing weapons and may reduce crime. however, tight security is still very important along with school rules and discipline.

many educational facilities implement the use of metal detectors nowadays and it did really helped. this helps if not completely but at least lower the amount of criminal activity on school grounds.

LOL, next time kids go to school they are going to be removing their shoes and having a cavity search and have bomb sniffing dogs or something.  :)
